PLASTER Plaster Department ·The Plaster Department carefully creates ''positive casts'' of the patient's feet from the replica molds sent to Marathon Orthotics from all over the United States. ·The ''negative casts'' are filled with liquid plaster that hardens to a solid replica of each individual's feet. ·The plaster ''positive'' molds are then modified to the clinic's exact specifications. ·Proper cast modification carefully expands the perimeter of a non-weight bearing cast and allows for the proper amount of arch support. This also determines the functionality of the device. ·Marathon Orthotics utilizes a multitude of different cast modification techniques depending on the type of orthotic that is being constructed. |
